Summer Time Fun
Fall season has arrived so it is time for an update about Raine. Raine had a summer full of adventures. First, Raine and I flew to Canada and stayed there for three weeks, then she went to stay with her dad's side of the family in New England for a week and a half, then she came back to Canada as a flower girl for my cousin's wedding.
On the flight to Buffalo, Raine did so well on the plane. Basically she slept the whole time. When we got to Buffalo, our friend from Tucson, Lana, who was visiting her parents in Buffalo, came to pick us up. She drove us across the border then we met Lyndsay and Ty. Lyndsay brought us to her place in Milton and we spent the weekend there. We went to Kelso Lake and met Lisa and Baileigh. The last time Raine and Baileigh met was 2 years ago when they both were babies. Raine enjoyed playing with Baileigh. After the lake, we went over to my parents' house and stayed there the whole week.

Sheri, my best friend, came to stay with us the whole week too. On Tuesday, we went to the largest indoor playground ever! Raine had a blast!. After that, we went to Milton to meet with Lisa and Baileigh for dinner. But it turned out to be a surprised birthday dinner for me with couple of my friends but I wasn't surprised. I was a bit suspicious. We had a nice time, and Raine enjoyed playing with Baileigh and Ty.

During the week, we went back to Milton to visit Lisa and Baileigh. Raine and Baileigh were inseparable. They had too much fun. Then on Friday (on my Birthday) we drove all the way to Belleville (about 4 hours drive) to stay with Sheri for the weekend. On Saturday, we were supposed to go to a day spa, so before we head over to the spa, we went to Tanya's (Sheri's sister) house to drop Raine off so she can watch Raine while we get our massages. As I opened the back of the garage door, I was SHOCKED to see all of my friends shouting "SURPRISE!" It was a surprise birthday party for me. I had NO clue that there was one for me because we already had a birthday dinner earlier in the week. Raine was puzzled to see all of the people there. I had several American friends that came for the party. It was so good to see them all. Raine, of course, played all day with Baileigh. She had too much fun that day, and I did not have any spa treatment after all. I much rather to spend time with all of my friends anyway :)

The next day, Raine and I went over to my parents' trailer with Sheri, Rosa Lee, and Damon. Raine went on a boat for the first time and she was scared at first but calmed down after a while. By the end of the day, we went back to my parents' home.

The next morning, Raine and I went to Niagara Falls to meet Rosa Lee and Damon there. Raine had a nice day at the Falls.

Early that week, we went back to visit Lyndsay and Ty, also Lisa and Baileigh went to their house. The kids had fun playing all evening.

Then later that week, Lisa and Baileigh came to visit at my parents' house and the girls just kept on playing and playing. They act as if they had been friends since forever but they only met couple of times.

By the end of the week, we all went back up to my parents' trailer. Then the next day, we went up north (another 5 or 6 hours drive) to visit my grandmother, aunts and uncles. Raine was shy at first but then warmed up with my relatives. She started talking and talking and playing with them including my cousins. She really enjoyed her time up north and get to make her uncles kill horseflies with the fly swapper :)

After the weekend with my relatives, we went back to the trailer and relaxed for few days. On Wednesday, we all went over to Canada's Wonderland (it is a theme park with all of the rides). It was pouring all day and we couldn't get on much rides as they were closed because of the lightnings. After lunch we decided to go over to the mall and see if in couple of hours, the rain would go away. After mall, we went back to Canada's Wonderland and sure enough, the skies cleared up! We all went running back inside and ran over to the most popular ride. After we went on the ride, I took Raine to watch Dora and Friends as I promised her I would take her there if it stopped raining. We waited for about 40 minutes and finally the show came on. Raine was in awe and enjoyed the show. She was scared to go near Dora though. After the park closed, we drove back to the trailer.

It finally rained lightly so we grabbed the opportunity to go on a kiddie ride.

Rained hard again so we waited under the shelter.

Few days later, Jody, Stacy, Raine, and I drove to Rhode Island to drop Raine off at her grandparents house. Raine was thrilled to see them and did not care when I left for the airport. *SOBS* Hehe.
During Raine's stay with her grandparents, Raine got to go over to their lake house, Children's Museum, etc with her dad, aunt and uncle.
After staying in New England, Raine went back to Canada for the wedding. She was shy at first but then warmed up with my cousin, Jeri, and my other cousin, Jason and his bride, Aimee. She loves them! Raine had too much fun at the reception. She danced and danced and danced. Then at around 9pm, she came up to me and said "Mama, I want to go back home. I'm tired." Hehe, so we went back to the hotel and went to sleep.

Raine did well on the flight back home. She was glad to be back to routine. :)
Then came Raine's birthday. On her birthday we went to a nice bowling alley. She went bowling for the first time. At first she was scared to try but after a while of encouraging, she finally tried and loved it.

We had a birthday party for Raine a week and a half after her birthday with her classmates and friends. She had a blast playing with them. Raine did not like it when we all sang her a happy birthday. Last year when we sang her a happy birthday, she cried. I guess she doesn't like the attention. :)
