"Santa, I've been good!"

As you all know, Raine is 4 months old now :) She is becoming active more and more each day. I am sure in the next few weeks she will be doing even more things. As of right now, she leans backward most of the times even while I try to nurse her! She also now likes to touch our hands and play with them. She has not yet grab/pick up an object with her fingers but she put her fists together against a toy and brings it to her mouth. She will grasp and hold on to something if it goes under her fingers. She still stares at an object and try to touch them.

This monkey is yummy!

As for sleeping, she still has not sleep through the night. I don’t think that will happen for the next few months. She wakes up hungry every 3 or 4 hours during the night but goes back to sleep after feeding. She still likes to suck her hands and her pacifier. She seems to feel secured to have something in her mouth. That’s fine with us as long it makes her happy. By the way, she is still looking for her thumb :)

Raine met her Poppy (my dad) for the first time on Dec. 23rd late at night. At first, my dad said “She looks like a Cripps!” But then the next day, he said that Raine looks like Todd.

Poppy, is that you?

Later that night, we went to Texas Roadhouse restaurant. I had Raine sitting on the table and all of the sudden, my drink were all over the table. The glass of my drink was under Raine’s hand and she grabbed onto it and spilled it. From now on, I’ll be sure there is nothing around Raine :)

On Christmas day, Raine enjoyed her first Christmas. She got a Walk ‘n Ride from Santa and she’s excited about it and can’t wait to use it when she’s learning to walk. In the morning, my grandma (my mom’s side) saw Raine through the webcam for the first time. Then later in the afternoon, my grandparents and aunts & uncles (my dad’s side) got to see Raine for the first time through the videophone. At first, my grandpa was having a hard time understanding the concept of the videophone, but then later he realized that we could see each other “live” and he said “The baby looks like a mohawk.” It was hilarious! It was a nice Christmas.

A gift from Santa!

On Thursday Dec. 29th, while we were waiting in the car for my dad and Jody to buy food from the food store, Raine started to laugh real hard at the stuffed bee with blinking lights on its cheeks and its crunchy wings. She laughed harder than the first time she laughed at the giraffe. It was so neat to see her laugh that hard. I hope she does it more often! Then later that night, I was putting Raine to sleep in my arms and she started singing with her eyes closed. She sang “ohh ohh ohh ohh” continuously which probably was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star :) She is just too cute! Don’t you agree?

At a park watching Mommy, Daddy, and Uncle Jody play soccer.

Wow, she is so beautiful. Very happy, too. I think her eyes look like yours (Janis) but maybe I gotta look at her closely (in person!).
